Mealime will close on October 21, 2026, just 16 days from today. If it helps keep dinner moving in your house, this is a good week to give your next setup a small test run.
There’s a reassuring part of the transition: Mealime says its full recipe collection will remain available through Meals Hub, a free service in Albertsons Companies’ grocery apps and websites, supported by the same core team. You can use its recipes, plans and shopping lists even without a nearby Albertsons-owned store.
The detail worth catching: Mealime says personal data will be deleted at shutdown, and certain preferences and settings will need to be established in Meals Hub. Its announcement doesn’t promise automatic account migration.
Even if you’ve already picked a replacement, a practice week can reveal the small things that matter: whether you can find your usual pasta, whether the quantities make sense, and whether the person shopping can actually use the list.
Your Monday move: rehearse three dinners
1. Choose meals you already know.
Pick one quick dinner, one household favorite and one meal that uses something already in the fridge. Familiar recipes make it easier to judge the new routine. Three dinners are enough to start.
2. Keep the details that make them yours.
Write down the recipe names, your usual serving sizes and any changes you make. If you’re saving screenshots, include the ingredients and instructions, then check that everything is readable. Start with the meals you cook most often.
3. Take the shopping list for a trial run.
Put those dinners into your chosen planner, or onto paper. Check the list against what’s at home, remove duplicates and make sure whoever shops can access it. Leave the rest of the week flexible.
Foodoodle is one option for that rehearsal. Our recipe scanner can turn individual recipe screenshots into editable recipes you can plan and shop from. It isn’t a bulk Mealime import, so bringing over a few favorites first is a sensible way to try it.
Meals Hub may suit you if you want to stay with Mealime’s recipe collection. A notebook can hold the same three-dinner exercise. The useful outcome this week is having familiar meals and a list you trust before October 21 arrives.
