Apple’s support pages say any website can become a Home Screen web app in Safari: tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, and turn on Open as Web App. That means you don’t have to wait for a native app to put a shared dinner plan one tap away.
How to do it
Open foodoodle.com in Safari.
Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Turn on Open as Web App.
Tap Add. The icon lands on your Home Screen and opens like an app.
Steps are from Apple’s support page.
What it means for dinner
Foodoodle is a free beta that works in the browser first. Native App Store apps aren’t live yet, and this isn’t a way around one. It’s the shortest path from we should plan dinner to having a plan on the phone you already open when everyone gets hungry.
For context, Instacart launched Clementine, an AI assistant built into its shopping experience, on September 9, 2026. Foodoodle’s job is different: the household plan itself, before anyone is in a store.
What goes on your Home Screen
A theme for the week
Household votes, including managed kid profiles (no kid accounts required)
The planner’s final call
An aisle-grouped list built from the approved board
It’s free during beta, no card. It’s a helper, not a guarantee, so you still check labels, and AI suggestions still wait for a human yes. You can try it in your browser first.
